Today, we have our hands full trying to replace all that, and pretty much everything around here is Work In Progress.

Among all of it, we prioritize improvements to our visitors’ first-contact experience. We want to help you understand what Fusion is, how to use it, and how to contribute to its success.

Clearly, that experience is not ideal today: our home page is nearly barren, and our documentation tree is downright ugly. (It’s a little embarrassing, honestly.) But as fans of “bias for action” and “incremental delivery” and other buzzphrases advocating tight feedback loops, we wanted to get the essentials in place and start iterating. I tell my teams to work in “baby steps”, so here we are.

Since feedback loops work best with customer feedback, we’d love to hear about your first contact with our public content. What was your first impression? What’s exciting? What’s confusing? What’s missing? What should we focus on next?

Whatever you’re thinking, get in touch, and thanks for taking the time to help us improve.

Whether you’re a long-time Fusioneer or a curious guest, we’re excited that you’re visiting the freshly-minted Ion Fusion website. Though this is more of a Soft Launch than a Grand Opening: like that funky new club downtown, we’re comically underprepared for your arrival.

Since Ion Fusion evaled its first lambda in 2012, it attracted a healthy and helpful community inside Amazon, including software developers, data analysts, and programming-language enthusiasts from all over the world1. It’s fair to say that the community’s love for this niche project supplied the energy to keep going despite a lack of resources2. Just as energizing is when, every few months, someone’s goodbye-to-Amazon message ended with “Let me know when Fusion is open-sourced.”

If you’re a current or former Amazonian, welcome! In case you haven’t noticed, we go by “Ion Fusion” now3. Please join us as we share the love with a wider audience. Say hi on Slack or Discord, let’s catch up.

If you’re new to Fusion4, welcome! Please take a look around and let us know what you think. Fresh eyes can provide great feedback.
